WhichOutfit LLC ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data WhichOutfit collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and your rights. It applies to WhichOutfit on the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store, and our website, and is written to comply with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and Google Play's Developer Program Policies, including the Google Play User Data policy.
1. Data We Collect
- Account information: the email address and name (if provided) from the sign-in method you choose — Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or an email one-time code — and an internal account ID.
- Closet content: photos of clothing and accessories you add, and the details attached to them (name, category, colour, brand, fabric, size, notes, and price if you enter one).
- Photos of you, only when you choose to provide them: a selfie for colour analysis, or a photo used for "on me" try-on or outfit rating.
- Style profile and activity: your style-quiz answers and preferences, the outfits you log as worn, saved looks, trips and plans, and your feedback on suggestions.
- Order emails you forward or share: if you use receipt import, the email you forward to your private receipt address (sender, subject and text) or share into the app, so its items can be added to your closet.
- Approximate location, only when you use weather features: approximate coordinates are sent to our weather provider to fetch a forecast; we do not store your location.
- Calendar events, only if you connect your calendar: titles and times of your upcoming events, used on your device to pre-fill your week plan and included in a styling request when you ask for suggestions. We do not store your calendar.
- Usage data: which features you use (for example, that an AI suggestion was generated), used to run and improve the service and to meter plan limits. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
- Support messages: feedback you send from the app, including an optional screenshot and your email if you ask us to reply.
- Purchase information: transaction identifiers and subscription status from Apple, Google Play, or Paddle (see Section 3).
2. Artificial Intelligence Processing
WhichOutfit's tagging, styling, rating, try-on and photo-cleanup features are powered by Google's Gemini API.
- What is sent: when you use an AI feature, the relevant photos and text (for example, the item being tagged, or the closet details and occasion needed for a suggestion) are sent to Google for processing, through our own servers.
- How it is used: Google processes the data to return a result. Google's handling of that data, including how long it may be retained (for example, for abuse monitoring), is governed by the Gemini API terms and Google's data-processing terms. We do not use your photos or content to train AI models.
- Your control: AI features run only when you use them. You can use your closet without them.
3. Financial Information
We never collect or store your full payment card number. Depending on how you subscribe or buy credits, your payment is processed by one of the following:
- Apple (iOS): In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We receive only an anonymous digital receipt to unlock your features.
- Google Play (Android): In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive only a purchase token and order identifier to verify and unlock your features.
- Paddle (Web): Purchases made through our website are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as the Merchant of Record for those transactions. This means Paddle — not WhichOutfit — collects and processes your payment method, billing address, and any tax-related information (such as your country and VAT/sales-tax location) to complete the sale, handle refunds, and meet tax obligations. Paddle shares with us only the information needed to activate and manage your subscription (such as your email, subscription status, and an order identifier). Paddle handles this data as an independent controller under its own Privacy Policy.
4. Service Providers
We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising. We use these providers to run WhichOutfit, and they process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage. Data is scoped to your account with row-level security.
- Google — Gemini API (AI processing, Section 2), Google Sign-In, and Google Play for Android purchases.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases.
- Paddle — web purchases, as described in Section 3.
- Postmark — receives the order emails you forward to your private receipt address.
- Resend — sends sign-in codes and, only if you opt in, product emails.
- SerpAPI — product-search lookups (item descriptions only, never your identity).
- Open-Meteo — weather forecasts (approximate coordinates only).
- Vercel — hosting for whichoutfit.app.
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to a successor if WhichOutfit is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data.
5. Friend Voting Polls
If you choose to share an outfit poll with friends, the outfit photo(s) you select are uploaded to our secure storage and accessible via a unique, unlisted link. Votes are anonymous — we record a browser token, not any personal identifier of your voters. You can close or delete your poll at any time from within the app, which removes the photos and vote data.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your closet images and data are retained as long as your account is active so you can access your wardrobe across devices.
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time in the app (More → Delete Account). This permanently deletes your account and the data linked to it from our servers — closet photos and data, worn log, style profile, forwarded receipts, polls, usage records and credit balance. You can also email support@whichoutfit.app from your account's address to request deletion. Copies held by the service providers above are handled under their own retention terms.
- Marketing email: you can unsubscribe from any product email with one tap.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, port, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
WhichOutfit is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of WhichOutfit after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
