πŸš€ Getting Started
Tap the + button on the Closet tab. You have three options: Add Photo to take or upload a photo (AI auto-tags it in the background), Import from Link to paste a product URL, or Add from Receipt to upload an order screenshot and bulk-add everything at once. After adding a photo, the item appears immediately in your grid with a "Tagging…" badge while AI fills in the details β€” you don't have to wait.
Very accurate for clear, well-lit photos of a single garment. The AI correctly identifies category, dominant colour, and fabric type the vast majority of the time. Brand detection works best when a logo or label is visible. If it gets something wrong, tap the item and edit any field β€” changes save immediately. If tagging fails entirely, a yellow Retry badge appears; tap it to try again.
Tap the search bar at the top of the Closet tab and type naturally. Search is token-AND, meaning every word must match: "green linen" returns items that are both green and linen. You can search by colour, category, fabric, brand, tags, or any combination. Results update in real time as you type.
Yes β€” a sign-in is required. You can sign in with Apple, Google, or your email address (code or magic link). Signing in enables cloud backup and makes sure your closet is safe if you ever reinstall or switch phones.
The style quiz runs automatically the first time you open the app after signing in. It takes about two minutes and covers your vibe, style icons, occasions you dress for, and sizing. You can retake or update it anytime from More β†’ Style profile. The AI uses your profile to personalise every suggestion β€” it's worth keeping up to date.
✨ AI Features
Open More β†’ Rate My Outfit, take or upload a photo of what you're wearing, and tap Score. The AI returns a score out of 10 with specific feedback: what's working, what's not, and concrete suggestions for improvement. You can adjust the tone in More β†’ Scoring tone β€” Gentle for encouragement, Balanced for honest-but-kind, or Honest for direct editorial feedback.
Almost anything outfit-related. The bar on the Closet home screen understands natural language and routes to the right feature automatically. Good examples: "What do I wear to a rooftop dinner tonight?", "Pack for a long weekend in New York", "Rate this outfit" (with a photo attached), "Find something like this", "Does this blazer work with wide-leg trousers?"
Every AI feature receives your full closet inventory, style profile, and your last 20 worn log entries as context. The trip planner uses this to build outfit suggestions from pieces you actually own β€” not generic internet recommendations. The more complete your closet and the more you use the worn log, the more relevant the plans become.
Yes β€” within your own profile. As you log more outfits, update your style profile, and add items, the context fed to the AI becomes richer and its suggestions become more relevant to you. Your data is never used to train the underlying AI model β€” see our Privacy Policy for details.
The Concierge is an intent router, not a chat agent. It classifies your query and opens the most relevant feature β€” pre-filled with any context it extracted (destination, occasion, etc.). Simple factual questions get a direct answer in an alert; everything else opens the right screen. Supported routes: Outfit Tester, Dress for Event, Trip Planner, Scan an Item, Inspo Snap, and Outfit Ideas.
πŸ‘• Managing Your Closet
Tap + β†’ Import from Link, paste the product URL and tap Fetch. The app loads the page directly from your device, extracts the product name, image, and description, and the AI pre-fills all item fields. Review the details β€” edit anything that needs adjusting β€” then tap Save. Works with most major retailers.
Tap + β†’ Add from Receipt and upload a screenshot of any order confirmation. The AI reads all clothing line items (filtering out shipping, taxes, gift wrap, and gift cards) and shows you a review list. Deselect anything you don't want to add, then tap Add to Closet β€” all selected items are saved at once.
Tap any item in the grid to open its detail view, then tap Edit (pencil icon). All fields β€” name, category, colour, fabric, tags, size, brand β€” are editable. To delete a single item, scroll to the bottom of the edit view and tap Delete Item. To delete multiple items at once, long-press any item to enter multi-select mode, select what you want to remove, and tap the trash icon.
A yellow Retry badge appears over the item in your closet grid. Tap it to retry tagging. You can also long-press the item and choose Retry tagging from the context menu. If retrying doesn't work, you can always fill in the fields manually by tapping the item and editing. Common causes of failure: poor lighting, very cluttered backgrounds, or the AI call timing out β€” retrying usually resolves it.
πŸ’³ Subscriptions & Billing
The free plan includes: unlimited closet storage, 25 AI styling calls per month, 100 auto-tagging operations per month, the trip planner, worn log, style profile and quiz, calendar integration, home screen widget, and all import tools. The AI call limit resets on the 1st of each month. All features are available β€” only the monthly AI call count is capped.
Premium ($14.99/month or $49.99/year) adds unlimited AI styling calls, unlimited auto-tagging, automatic cloud backup (all closet items, photos, worn log, saved looks, and style profile), and multi-device sync. Everything else in the free plan is also included.
Go to More β†’ Upgrade to Premium, or tap the upgrade prompt that appears when you reach your free-tier AI limit. Purchase is handled through the App Store β€” you'll be charged to your Apple Account on file. Annual billing is the most cost-effective at $49.99/year ($4.17/month).
Open the iPhone Settings app β†’ tap your name β†’ Subscriptions β†’ WhichOutfit β†’ Cancel Subscription. You keep Premium access until the end of the current billing period. Alternatively, go to More β†’ Manage Subscription inside the app for a shortcut to the same App Store screen.
Sign in to the app with the same Apple ID (or Google/email account) you used to purchase. Your subscription is detected automatically. If it doesn't appear, tap More β†’ Restore Purchases. Your full closet also restores from cloud backup automatically on first sign-in β€” this may take a few seconds if your closet is large.
If you prefer not to subscribe, you can buy consumable credit packs for individual AI calls: 50 credits for $4.99 or 200 credits for $14.99. Credits don't expire while your account is active. They cannot be converted to cash and are forfeited if you delete your account. Purchase from More β†’ Upgrade to Premium β†’ Top-Up Credits.
All refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, find your WhichOutfit purchase, and request a refund through Apple's standard process. We don't process refunds directly β€” Apple manages all billing and refund requests for App Store purchases.
πŸ”’ Privacy & Account
Your closet data and photos are stored on your device. Premium users additionally sync to Supabase, a GDPR-compliant cloud infrastructure provider. AI requests β€” the specific image and prompt for each feature call β€” are transmitted to our AI provider to generate your result and are immediately discarded. Nothing is retained by the AI provider after your result is returned.
No. Your closet is completely private. Cloud storage is secured by row-level security rules that enforce user_id = auth.uid() β€” meaning only your account can read or write your data. No other user, and no member of the development team, can access your closet contents.
No. We have strict agreements with our AI provider ensuring that your uploaded images and prompts are never used to train AI models. Data is processed solely to return your styling result and is immediately discarded by the AI provider after delivery. See the full Privacy Policy for details.
Go to More β†’ Account β†’ Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes all your closet data, photos, worn log, style profile, and any credit balance from our servers. The action cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription, cancel it in App Store Settings first to stop future billing β€” account deletion does not automatically cancel your subscription.
Never. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party beyond what is necessary to operate the app (cloud storage and AI processing). Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
πŸ›  Troubleshooting
Check that you have an active internet connection β€” all AI features require one. If you're connected, try again: the app has automatic retry-with-backoff, so momentary slowdowns resolve themselves. If the issue persists after 2–3 tries, close and reopen the app. Persistent errors are usually brief periods of model load on the AI provider's side and clear up within a few minutes.
Make sure you've signed in with the same account (Apple ID, Google account, or email) you used before. On first launch after sign-in, the app automatically pulls your closet from cloud backup β€” this can take 5–15 seconds if your closet is large. If nothing appears, tap More β†’ Backup & Sync and then the sync icon to trigger a manual pull. Cloud backup is a Premium feature β€” if your subscription lapsed, your data is still on the server; resubscribe and sync to restore it.
Free-plan AI styling calls (25/month) and auto-tagging operations (100/month) reset on the 1st of each calendar month, based on your account β€” not your device. The counter is shared across all your devices. Check your usage in More β†’ Backup & Sync. Upgrading to Premium removes all limits immediately.
For Sign in with Apple: make sure you're signed into an Apple ID on the device (Settings β†’ your name). For Google: ensure the Google app is installed or Safari can complete the OAuth flow. For email sign-in: check your spam folder for the code or magic-link email. If none of these resolve it, contact us at the address below with the sign-in method you're using and any error message shown.
Open the App Store, tap your profile icon, and scroll down to see pending updates. The current version number is shown at the bottom of More inside the app. If you're on the latest version and something doesn't seem right, contact support with the version number and a description of what you're seeing.
